about

In a world where both cops and African American’s are targets, where one is not able to decipher who the enemy is. New artist Big Apple IMC is using his words to describe the true feelings of the middle class, under privileged, and fed up citizens of the United States.
Where else can a reality show character actually be in the conversation of becoming the next president, the same place where the city of Baltimore shells out 6.4 million dollars to a family before the cops have even been charged with murder. Big Apple IMC effectively tackles all social and economic injustices on his new E.P. entitled No Apologies.
No Apologies sets the stage for the conversation about the Misconception of what’s hip, and what it means to be black? For a long time going to school and getting an education was looked down upon, while “the struggle” has been glorified. Take a walk downtown Brooklyn and see how things have changed. Now what used to be urban communities have been transformed into trendy hangout spots and people in subsided housing are being pushed out of the so –called hood.
Big Apple IMC cleverly allows his listeners to navigate through politics, economics and the history of African Americans, while being able to still provide the bounce and lyrics needed to maintain the true hip hop heads attention.
Soulful tracks produced by Tone Jonez, Super Scott, and Kev Cosme, marinated with words such as “ what happened to my people all forgotten the truth, like they don’t walk black thought, boycotting the Roots” provides the exact blend of ingredients needed for a classic EP.
With songs like Reparations, Nigga No More, Misconception, and Revolution you are put directly on the front lines of the struggle, Stacks N The Uber Feat. Fred The Godson will put a smile on anyone face that starves for lyrics, while Day Dreaming and Appetite for Destruction showcases the story telling ability reminiscent of Slick Rick.
NO APOLOGIES is truly worth a listen, even if it’s to take a sneak peek into the mind of a black man in the new Merica!
